The fifth International Competition for young pianists


Rules of entry

The competition is open to pianists of any nationality, regardless of their level and type of education (Music Academy, conservatoire, music school, private school, private lessons).

The competition comprises five categories:



Category A - born in or after 1998
-a programme of the competitor’s own choice which should comprise a piece by J.Haydn, W.A.Mozart or L.van Beethoven *
- an 8 minute (maximum) recital

category B - born in or after 1996
-a programme of the competitor’s own choice which should comprise a piece by J.Haydn, W.A.Mozart or L.van Beethoven *
- a 10 minute (maximum) recital

category C - born in or after 1994
-a programme of the competitor’s own choice which should comprise a piece by J.Haydn, W.A.Mozart or L.van Beethoven *
- a 12 to 15 minute recital

category D - born in or after 1992
-a programme of the competitor’s own choice which should comprise a piece by J.Haydn, W.A.Mozart or L.van Beethoven *
- a 14-17 minute recital

category E - born in or after 1989
-a programme of the competitor’s own choice which should comprise a piece by J.Haydn, W.A.Mozart or L.van Beethoven *
-a 20-25 minute recital

* Competitors can perform one or more compositions by J.Haydn, W.A.Mozart or L.van Beethoven , or one or more movements from Sonata by J.Haydn, W.A.Mozart or L.van Beethoven

The competition is open to pianists of any nationality, regardless of their level and type of education (Music Academy, conservatoire, music school, private school, private lessons).

The competition takes place in two stages. The age limit of competitors is 32.

I. STAGE – lasting from 25 to 30 minutes
a) J. S. Bach: A Prelude and a Fugue from the collection „Das Wohltemperierte Klavier“
b) A Virtuoso Etude by F. Chopin or F. Liszt
c) A composition by J.Haydn or W.A.Mozart
d) A composition of a competitor's free choice


II. STAGE – lasting from 40 to 50 minutes
a) One of the Sonatas by L. V. Beethoven with the exception of op.14, op.49 and op.79
b) A composition of greater significance from the Romantic period
c) One or more compositions from the 20th or 21st century
